I'd like to give a talk on the UK. The UK is a short name for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. This country is situated in the British Isles. It consists of four countries which are England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Their capitals are London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast.
The UK is separated from the continent by the English Channel and the Straits of Dover.The UK is also washed by the Atlantic Ocean in the north and the North Sea in the east. Everyone who was born in Britain is British. People from England are English. People from Scotland are Scottish or Scots. People from Wales are Welsh. People from Northern Ireland are Irish.
Everyone in Britain speaks English, but in some parts of Scotland and Wales people speak different languages as well. For example, the Welsh speak Welsh. The flag of the UK is called the Union Jack. It is made up of three crosses: the cross of St. George (the patron saint of England), the cross of St.Andrew (the patron saint of Scotland) and the cross of St. Patrick (the patron saint of Ireland).

Give a talk on the King and the Parliament of the UK.
In Britain the King is the head of state, but in fact, he doesn't rule the country as he has no power. The King is the symbol of the country, its history and traditions. He travels about the United Kingdom, meets different people and visits schools, hospitals and other special places. The King of Great Britain is also the Head of the Commonwealth and the King of Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
But the real power in the UK belongs to the British Parliament and to the British Government. The British Parliament has two houses: the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The members of the House of Commons are elected. The British people elect 650 members of the House of Commons every five years. The members of the House of Lords are not elected, they are selected. These members are permanent.

(Косвенная речь)
«Direct speech» или прямая речь — это слова какого-либо человека, передаваемые буквально так, как они и были произнесены. На письме прямая речь выделяется кавычками, а после слов, вводящих прямую речь, ставится запятая.
She says, "The lessons begin at 9 o’clock." – Она говорит: «Занятия начинаются в 9 часов».
«Indirect speech» («reported speech») или косвенная речь — это речь, передаваемая не слово в слово, а только по содержанию, в виде дополнительных придаточных предложений, при этом запятая, отделяющая слова говорящего от прямой речи, и кавычки, в которые взята прямая речь, опускаются.

Как правильно перевести информацию из прямой речи в косвенною?
